Dixie Thompson, Instructor
What's it called when an educator retires from teaching thirty-three years at Our Saviour School, only to return for her 14th year as volunteer art teacher extraordinaire? We call it a blessing!
Mrs. Dixie Thompson shares her passion for art with all students, K-8. Students are presented with a literature connection to stimulate the creative processes and then given the opportunity to express their artistic abilities with watercolor acrylics, watercolor paper, and correct brushes.
The art program has been supported by awesome MAGIC Match sponsors for the 4th year in a row!

During the school day, it’s reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic. But, after 3:00, the three R’s take on a whole new meaning as the Recycling Club focuses on Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling!
The Club is made available to fifth grade students who would like to learn how to take care of the environment while making a big difference at the school level.
Members collect newspapers and paper from recycling centers positioned in each classroom; they sponsor all-school can drives twice a year; and, they take empty printer ink cartridges and toners to Staples, earning the school rewards cards to use toward classroom supplies.
Recycling Dates for 5th Graders: Oct 12, Nov 9, Dec 7, Jan 11, Feb 8, Mar 14, Apr 18, May 9

Annually, junior high students review scientific procedure and then research an area of passion.
They hypothesize, experiment, chart results, and conclude. Then, they reflect on their work and determine how they could improve their project if they were to repeat it.
That's not all . . . next, they create a display that gives the big picture and they type a paper that shares all the details.
